Privacy Policy

TL;DR

  • For visitors: We do not use cookies and we do not collect any personal data. We use Plausible.io for privacy-focused analytics.
  • For account holders: If you decide to create an account, we ask for the bare minimum (username, email, and password) and only share it with services that are absolutely necessary for the app to function.
  • We never sell your data: Never have, never will. The privacy of your data — and it is your data, not ours! — is a big deal to us.

At Paperpace.com, we are committed to complying with GDPR, CCPA, PECR and other privacy regulations. In this policy, we lay out what data we collect and why, how your data is handled, and your rights to your data.

Paperpace is currently operated by an individual, with business registration pending. This privacy policy was last updated on January 1, 2026.

Information We Collect

For Website Visitors

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect any personal data. Plausible is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR. All data is anonymized and aggregated, and we cannot identify individual visitors.

For Account Holders

When you create an account on Paperpace, we collect only the following information:

  • Username
  • Email address
  • Password (securely hashed and encrypted)

For paid users, we collect payment information through Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe handles all payment data securely and we do not store your full credit card information on our servers. We only receive limited payment details (such as the last 4 digits of your card and expiration date) necessary for account management.

We don't collect phone numbers, physical addresses, or any other personal data beyond what is listed above.

Cookies and Tracking

We only use cookies for authentication session management. These cookies are technically necessary for the app to function and allow you to stay logged in as you navigate the site. Under PECR and GDPR, these are considered "strictly necessary" cookies and do not require consent.

We do not use any advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party cookies.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Paperpace service
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • Communicate with you about your account or respond to support requests
  • Improve and optimize our service based on aggregated usage patterns

Your Content and Intellectual Property

Paperpace is a note-taking tool that allows you to create and store your own content. Here's what you need to know about your content rights:

  • You retain all rights: You own all intellectual property rights to the content you create, including your notes, journals, and any other materials you upload or create using Paperpace.
  • Our limited rights: We only reserve the rights necessary to serve your content back to you through the application. We will never use your content for any other purpose.
  • No claims: Paperpace makes no claim to ownership of your creative work, ideas, or intellectual property.

Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell your data. Period. We never have and never will. Your data is yours.

We do not share your personal information with third parties, with the following limited exceptions:

  • Analytics: We share anonymized, aggregated usage data with Plausible Analytics to understand how our service is used. This data cannot be used to identify you.
  • Payment processing: For paid users, we share necessary payment information with Stripe to process transactions. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and maintains strict security standards. You can review Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard security measures, including:

  • Encryption of passwords using secure hashing algorithms
  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers
  • Regular security reviews and updates to our infrastructure

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
